Solaray L-Lysine 500 mg HCl is an essential amino acid necessary for collagen synthesis, cartilage formation, and maintaining the structural integrity of connective tissue. Lysine is a cofactor for enzymes that cross-link collagen (lysyl oxidase) and participates in carnitine synthesis for energy metabolism. It also enhances the anti-herpes immune response by inhibiting HSV-1 viral replication and antagonizing arginine (an amino acid that promotes herpes).
